Hyphenated Americans

Barack Obama is bi-racial, a true African-American, a product of an American mother and an African father, unlike many others who choose to call themselves African-Americans who are generations from any lineage to ancestors on the African continent.
Yes I am proud of my Norwegian heritage - but do I call myself a Norwegian-American on a daily basis? No. Do I fly the Norwergian Flag? Yes, but only on May 17th, Norwegian Constitution Day and when I have relatives from Norway visit.
I am an American, red, white and blue.A veteran of the US Navy. I fly the flag of the United States of America, drive a car made in Michigan by a US company.
Who are you? Do you have to use a hyphen to describe who you are?
